Meet Shadow!

This is Shadow. She is the new kitten I adopted yesterday. She's 4 months old, still very small, and quite lovable and playful. Currently she is residing in my bedroom with me, away from the rest of the house and my mom's feline creature. Shadow was a bit uneasy yesterday, she did a fair bit of hissing and growling, mostly at my mom. Fancy that....

She's quite taken with me now though, so I'm happy.

All in all, this turned out to be a quite wonderful weekend. Last Friday, the boy and I went to see the movie Brave.

It was a good movie. I rather liked it, mostly because I'm partial to all that Celtic stuff. The accents were wonderful as well.

On Saturday, I finished a dress I'd been working on for a while now. I'll post more about that on my Lolita blog, seeing as it IS a Lolita dress. Sunday was fun. We did the mini-golf thing with the boy's family and I didn't do too bad seeing as it was my first time. We also went to eat at Buffalo Wild Wings and I can safely say that if we never go back it'll be too soon. The service is always horrible and the food....mediocre at best.

So all in all, good stuff. How was your weekend?

Making Waves

I had a rather busy weekend. It was Buffalo Days, a local town festival-thing that spans an entire week. Mostly stupid events but they do have fireworks and a parade.

Last Friday was the fireworks event. So Chris and my family all headed for downtown and found a nice cozy spot around the lake to view the light show. Since there are street vendors I bought a small bag of mini doughnuts. So Good! The fireworks themselves weren't terribly impressive, but it was an okay reason to get out of the house.

On Saturday, we went over to my uncle's house since he also hosts a BBQ for the parade. His house is right on the parade route, so it's the perfect place to set up. To be honest, I haven't spoken to my uncle since Christmas, when he really pissed me off and scolded me about something stupid. Anyways...I decided to let go of my grudge and strike up conversation.

I'm glad I did. He took me to breakfast the next morning. On his motorcycle. If you haven't ridden one, I tell you there's nothing like it. It's a whole new perspective to be travelling at sixty miles an hour with the wind whipping your hair wildly around your face. You can see everything and it feels like flying.

I might be addicted.

In other news it's been storming a lot here. Like, really storming. Heavy winds, lots of rain, hours of lightning and thunder. I love it. Of course, with all this heat and humidity, a severe storm is bound to pop up sooner than later. And don't get me wrong, I love tornadoes but I'm not so fond of them when they're by my house.

We'll have to keep an eye on that....

Anything But Monochrome - Now for Sale!

Once upon a time I wrote a silly little YA novel. I started this back in high school and I've been rewriting and editing ever since. I tried several times to snag a literary agent, but they all rejected me and while some enjoyed my work it simply wasn't cut out for their company. I figured my poor little novel would never see the light of day.

Until I came across an article about publishing e-books and with the rise of e-Readers I figured this might be a good avenue for getting my work out there. So I signed up with Kindle Direct Publishing, uploaded my book and voila!~

Anything But Monochrome is now for sale!

So have a peek at it and tell me what you think! If you don't want to buy it yourself, at least spread the word and share it with others!

Oh gods...

I'm falling apart.
