Sailing Past The Holidays

In my haste to return home from the dastardly American holiday commonly known as Thanksgiving, I left my camera behind. Not that I took many photos to begin with, of course. Just a few outfit shots here and there. Even though I brought all of my Lolita clothing back to my mom's place, I only wore it one day.

That's pathetic.

I did however, begin working on a new dress with some very flowery and decidedly summery fabric. It's a dusty pink color with a white and dark pink rose print. I'm making a shirred back dress - not necessarily Lolita, the aesthetic may actually end up being more Dolly Kei. And I'm happy with that.

I had three Thanksgiving dinners. Yes, three. One on Thursday with my immediate family (Mom, Joey, I and of course Chris), then one later that night with HIS family. And on Saturday my aunt held a dinner since during the actual holiday she was with her husband's family. So that's three large turkey based dinners.

I don't like turkey. I don't like the taste. I don't like the fact that there's a chemical in it that puts one to sleep. I'm not a fan of heaping piles of stuffing and mashed potatoes. I don't like my vegetables ruined with high-fat sauces. Overall, I'm not a Thanksgiving fan.

My diet took one look at all that food and positively CRINGED.

I used to enjoy all that stuff, possibly back when things were less stressful and I got along with everybody. Now these events are rife with the tension of ill-kept secrets and past betrayals. It's a flavor that will never leave our mouths, I think.

I also got up to 130 lbs on the scale over the weekend too. I haven't been that high in quite a while. I kind of wanted to cry. Or break things. I'm trying to LOSE weight and there I go gaining it over the weekend and such.

I'm gonna have to take extra care to de-stress the next few weeks, too. I have three weeks of class left before final exams and I still have one ten-page paper to write (if the book I'm doing the paper on EVER arrives) plus I have to track down another book at the library that we're reading for English class this week. I need to do ALL of my Global Studies work yet, and get my presentation for Japanese class sorted out.

Guh! Yes, I need to relax. Frequent baths are in order, as well as fancy homemade coffees, listening to soothing music, eating well, and lots of cardio to keep the stress weight off.

Wish me luck, I'm gonna be very busy until the Solstice, probably. >_< Ugh!

So, about that weekend thing....

You know, the past few weekends have been somewhat less than pleasant for me. I had really hoped that this one was going to look up. And it did, in certain ways.

I received the Moitie dress that the boy bought for me:

Of course, I have breasts and I guess Mana despises truly female forms, so I have a difficult time fitting this garment. I'm going to have to lose weight or bind my breasts probably.

The freebies were nice though:

Baby socks and a lovely choker necklace. Everything was sealed up neatly inside a brand shopping bag too. Major kudos to the seller, she clearly understands the necessity of presentation!

So even though the dress didn't fit well, I still managed to dress up and have a productive day. In fact, I made a new skirt out of a strange fabric I've had lying around in my room for a while.

Time Flies

Anniversaries are a funny thing. Especially when you're a middle school girl and a disgusting poltergeist. <3

My favorite episode so far. Most of them are on Youtube, so if you're bored one night give it a go. Full of cheesy puns, but most of them are pretty clever.

I actually downloaded the opening tune for my ringtone. <3

Ugh, kill me....

What about you guys? Ten ways to feel better?

1. Grow mold and manufacture your own penicillin.
2. Drink copious amount of tea.
3. Invest in lots of canned soup, low sodium variety.
4. Sleep. Lots of sleep. Forget you and your symptoms exist!
5. Make everyone else sick.....

Carry on, brethren. For now I shall die and be no more....

Argh Blargh Rawr Dammit!

I hate arguing about abortion with people. Not because I can't understand their side of things (I can!) and not because they don't try to see my point of view (they do!) but because people get WAY TOO HUNG UP on biological untruths.

Like just today, in a cult I recently joined on VampireFreaks, I was told that no matter the woman or the condition of her body/pregnancy, ALL BABIES have a heartbeat at 5 weeks, tops.

I'm really wondering where this person is getting her facts, simply because they're wrong. Heck, my abortion at 5 1/2 weeks yielded an ultrasound that depicted my embryo as no larger than a dime. Truth.

But all babies have heartbeats at 5 weeks, when most haven't even developed beyond an organized clump of cells. Not Fact.

To say that every single pregnancy is going to develop at exactly the same pace and in the same fashion is just a moronic fallacy. There's no other way around that. Every woman's body is different, depending on her DNA, her biological structure, her current health thus every pregnancy will be different, yes? It seems fairly logical to me.

See, I'm guessing this idiot arguing so vehemently is likely not even out of high school. She probably has no active experience with pregnancy and I'm sure, from the sound of it, her school's abstinence only sex-ed course is likely feeding them lies.

I fuckin' hate this place.

Hey, baby!

You know what I love about the cold months of Autumn and Winter? Bundling up and packing away any and all physical "assets". This is the only time out of the year when I am not cat-called on a regular basis. Finally, I can slip into a cozy pea coat, tug on some warm sweat pants (without feeling too hick) and kick on my boots. Once I go out in an ensemble like this, I'm invisible.

I've talked to other girls who experience the same thing. Guys are much less likely to screech at a woman across the street if she's all bundled up in a poofy coat and a scarf. I wore my new winter coat this week and despite it being of a feminine cute and featuring a ruffled hem, not a word was cast my direction. It was blissful.

Makes me long for prolonged coldness and a permanent departure from the unbearable summer months of short shorts and exposed cleavage. Ugh.

Nihongo ni Youkoso!

So, in my JP 101 class, we've mastered hiragana, katakana, and now up to 30 different kanji. Most of which I can read with a fair amount of ease. Writing them is a bit trickier of course, because you must deal with stroke order and when you have to make several very tiny strokes....well...

But still, I am enjoying my learning experience immensely. I also have an oral exam in JP tonight, which I will be reviewing shortly. All you have to do is recite a small piece of dialogue for the professor. So it mostly comes down to memorization. In the bag....yup.

I also have a poem analysis essay due tomorrow, which I'll likely work on tonight. The poem I chose for this essay is The Reaper and the Flowers by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. Very few poems I actually find interesting, but this was one of them. If you haven't read it yet, I suggest you check it out. Azam Ali has a lovely musical version of this on Youtube, that I also recommend.

So like I said, that's due tomorrow. Anyone interested in reading such an analysis?

I have chapter two of my Beetlejuice fanfiction up online now too. If any of you are interested in reading or following along, here's the link:

Also, I allow anonymous reviews, so please off your criticism or praise, respectively. I think I need some motivation to keep me going. I don't write much anymore, so I've really been stretching my literary legs here.

Every Day is Halloween

Ello, peeps!

My previous post was a little.....disturbing. I was in a rather upset frame of mind and I have thus settled. So, how abouts we get to describing my somewhat fun but also painful weekend? Saturday, Mom hosted her own little Halloween themed party for just us. She made cutesy little pumpkin and mummy shaped foods and there was much to snack on. I also drank several shots of UV Cake - which is delicious and really does taste like cake, but I will never touch again. Ever.

I had my first real hangover on Sunday and I thought I was going to die. Head hurt, body hurt, stomach was incredibly upset most of the day. I just wanted to curl into a ball and die. It just sucks because I was unable to really enjoy Sunday's festivities.

But Chris spent Sunday night up in St. Cloud with me so that made it bearable. We watched The Crow and then on Monday we bummed around the mall and he bought me lovely things - as he's prone to do.

I got this awesome winter coat from Target. It's militant and Lolita all at the same time. I'm in love. <3

I got a couple of on sale items from DEB, a junior's store in the mall. I like some of their things. They had a cute variety of high-low skirts...which I've been oogling mind you. I finally got one. It's lovely. <3

Also, super badass high-low lace top as well. I wore it today with a tank underneath and a pair of green leggings. Can't forget the boots either.

I also got this fantastic pair of pants at Sears. They were on sale and size 4 fit me perfectly. Size 4. Way to make a girl feel good about herself eh? I think I might buy clothing at major department stores more often. photo because the idiot cashier (who was in the pagan group last year) forgot to remove the ink device. So I have to take it back with the receipt and have it removed. Blargh.

I've also finally acquired a thing of pepper spray. I went all out and chose the one with tear gas in it, because I'm a nutter like that. Also, if I need to drop some creep, I'm gonna do it right.

So that was that.

On a final note:

I dyed my hair again.

Monday, November 5, 2012

I just committed a recent Facebook felony. I went through my friends list, and deleted everyone I don't like, don't talk to, or have no intention of letting back into my daily life. So many problems solved in one swift motion.

I also deleted one of my blogs, as you might soon discovere. Daily Fashion is no more. I don't dress up and take photos often enough to make it worth the hassle, so it's gone.

I'm in a downright pissy mood though, so I won't type anymore for now. Updates to come later, maybe. If I fucking decide I care or not. T_T

A lonely little Samhain...

Halloween proved to be an exciting and productive night for lots of people I know, but for me it was a quiet evening spent in my room with Twizzlers, a Starbucks Double Shot energy drink, and popcorn. I watched some b-rated vampire films and read some Beetlejuice fan-fiction whilst listening to Lindsey Stirling's awesome new album.

A lovely homage to both spooky Halloween tunes and Michael Jackson's Thriller, her new video for Moon Trance was really irresistible.

I also dressed up to take a Japanese exam too:

A vintage beige dress made of lace, a sheer lingerie over-coat with some vintage jewelry. I was decked out like a Victorian era ghost/zombie. For something whipped together in about 20 minutes...not too bad if I say so.

Also, as it is now officially November, Nanowrimo has begun and I think I'm going to take up the challenge for the first time ever. Granted...I'm not doing original fiction. I'm going to write a fan-fic. For the entire month of November. And it's going to be awesome. Just saying.

I'll post a link to the story, once I get a few chapters up and you can read it for yourself and see what you think. ^_^

Any other wordsmith's around here participating?.....
