First Dibs on Sales Items - Go!

So I decided to sell some stuff. If you watched my Youtube video from yesterday: here! please note that, no, it's not THAT stuff. Yet. This is other stuff I've been contemplating selling off mostly because it doesn't fit or is no longer part of my style.

Because I adore all of you so so so much, I'm giving you first dibs on my items.

Punk Rave Blouse

Steve Madden "Tofu" Platforms

Cypherlox DreadFalls

I promise that everything is in really great condition and fairly priced. I did my research on pricing here....I hate overpricing items because I find it incredibly unfair.

So if you're interested, pop on over to Ebay to have a look-see!

A Little Over-The-Top

The scene for the party yesterday was much as I expected. A good eight tables had been set up around the property, each covered in a checkered tablecloth and strewn with little black stars. A table in the garage featured all of my cousin Dylan's school photos to date and a neat little slideshow of his grad pictures. Kind of cheesy, I agree.

And there was definitely a LOT of food. Mom managed to snag a good amount of leftovers.

In addition to what I have photographed here, there was another table laden with cookies and cake. There were about five coolers featuring drinks outside too. It was definitely a massive amount of eats.

The BBQ chicken looked a little dry, so I steered clear and opted for beans, casserole, some cornbread and veggies. My brother braved the chicken though, and found it lacking.

My brother, Chris, my cousin Kelley, and I were all seated at the middle table in the garage. We dubbed it the cool table and invited another cousin of ours to join in. Mostly we sat around making fun of Kelley's dad's side of the family (who are a bunch of greedy, fat, rednecks - I kid you not) and talked about plans for the school year. It was tolerable.

Of course, I had to take advantage of the fact that these people live on a farm outside of town, so I took a leisurely stroll around the grounds, enjoyed the cool breeze, sampled raspberries from the garden, and visited the animals in the shed. Kelley is going to take them to show in a few weeks, a 4H thing she's been doing since early childhood.

For being a typically moody teen girl with too much eyeliner and a smart-phone, she's remarkably dedicated to her farm beasts. :) Of which I heartily approve, because they're adorable. Even if they DO smell.

Of course, after pie was brought out, I had to venture back into the hub of semi-civilization. The strawberry pie was delicious and the lemon had about four inches of stiff meringue on top, which was great. A little after four p.m. we started to clean up and of course the redneck side of that crowd helped themselves to heaps of food and took off, leaving the clean up duties to the rest of us. Whoever heard of snobby rednecks, right?

Anyways, the whole affair was over the top. I guess, in the end, I'm glad only a few people came to mine and it was a quiet event. Because this....was just ridiculous!

A Sunny Afternoon

I have never been quite so bored.

Here I am, hanging out at my boyfriend's house. Locked alone in the basement with my cat. Who is visiting my boyfriend's house and needs constant supervision. I'm hungry, I think. A bit dehydrated. My shoulder is really stiff from just sitting in front of a computer all day and I'm developing a migraine. Boredom is really, really not good for me.

*after a brief intermission*

Well, I allowed my kitty to cuddle with me in front of the window for a bit and then I gave into my body's subtle demands for food. Not that I'm doing too well - I grabbed a can of Pepsi and some potato chips. It just feels weird to break out the pots and pans in someone else's kitchen. I've done it here before, but that's mostly to fix the boy and I something. Never just for myself....too weird.

So I'll be content to snack until the boy returns from work.

Speaking of kitchens...the local dollar store here is selling some SUPER cute bright green cooking utensils. I'm nabbing as many as I can so I can have my own "theme" in the dorm apartment I'm moving into August 18th. I mean, granted I'm gonna have to share this kitchen but I have a feeling I'll be getting the most use out of it and so I'm going to establish it as my domain right from the get-go. Maybe I'll bake my new roomies some cookies while we set the house rules. They say a way to a guy's heart is with food, but I say it works equally well in cementing civilities among females as well.

Tomorrow is my cousin's high school graduation party. Do they even DO THOSE outside of the United States? Goodness, I hope not. Pointless affairs, really. All your relatives (and friends) show up to congratulate you on sailing through the easiest curriculum in the world, maybe give you a few dollars and a card, but mostly hang around to eat free food. You can't have a social gathering here in the states without enough food to feed an army.

To prove my point, I'm gonna take photos tomorrow of all the food my aunt will have laid out. BBQ chicken, potato salad, baked beans, casseroles, veggies, fruit, pies, dessert squares, ect. It's massive. And all for a bunch of people who aren't really going to care about the effort made either...

I didn't want a grad party, myself. But my mom still threw one anyways.  I think, maybe....20 people showed up. For my cousin's the estimate is about 85. That's ridiculous. When I graduated I didn't even KNOW 85 people.

Anyways, I suppose I'll conclude my rant here. Stay tuned for more tomorrow night!

I'm melting! I'm melting! Oh what a world....

We're currently experiencing a heat wave. In fact, my entire state is under a heat advisory until Thursday. It's after 1 am and the temperature outside is still above 80 degrees F. That's ridiculous. It's going to be 101 tomorrow. Just in time for all the lovely Independence Day celebrations. Which I will NOT be attending, thank you very much.

I honestly don't understand how people down in Texas can survive (and even function) in temperatures like this on a regular basis. It makes me long for some place chilly....like Siberia. I'd be totally fine with Siberia for a couple of days. The lack of high-speed internet might even force me to get some writing done.

Which I've been meaning to do lately. But with this awful heat and humidity I can honestly say I don't feel inclined to do much of anything except lie around all day and moan. It needs to cool off...and fast. I got some new Bodyline stuff and I'm not wearing it until its reasonable outside.

Speaking of Bodyline. I tried to order another parasol. Actually the same one from my last order that didn't show up. Well....they forgot it again. So I'm simply going to ask for a refund and scamper off over to Ebay to find something more....authentic.

My new kitten, Shadow, is becoming quite well adjusted here. I'm rather happy about that. The first few days she hissed at everyone that wasn't me. Now she's happy to get attention and free to roam about the house most of the time. Sassy still doesn't appreciate that, but we're taking their introductions slowly.

I've also come on here once more to scam my book around. I've only had two sales so far and I'm fairly certain I know who bought it. ^_^ My immense thanks to both of them, but I really want to share my work with more people. I'm selling it for $3.50, which I believe is reasonable and since Amazon only gives me 70% royalties I'm not actually making that much off each copy.

I want to sell but I have no idea where to market and who to market to? I mean, who reads this stuff right?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
